Geodimeter 440 Robotic Survey Station - produces a color scale diagram of the accident scene with detailed distance, angle and elevation information. Provides the ability to ascertain the visible distance of objects in a hill crest or curve situation and establish point of possible perception.

Portable Air-Brake Tester - is a FORCON exclusive instrument, used on each individual brake of a commercial vehicle to provide accurate reading at controlled pressure without outside sources.

Reverse Projection Photogrammetry - When measurements do not exist for important items in a crash scene photograph, this technique allows actual positions to be determined using the photo negative in a specially equipped camera.

Vericom Performance Computer - determines with fine accuracy acceleration / deceleration rates, time to travel a distance, and more. Especially useful in testing loaded trucks which have no existing data base.

GPS and Computerized Database - determines sun position or moon phase during any hour or day at the specific crash location. Useful in cases where sun glare may be a factor.

Stephen B. Chewning is FORCON's principal accident reconstructionists and is responsible for management and quality control of our highly qualified reconstruction team. He has over 20 years of field experience including law enforcement and private sector cases totaling over 5,000, and has received over 1,000 hours of technical training from the most respected institutions in the field of accident reconstruction.

During his career as a traffic accident reconstructionists, Steve has testified as an expert in over 300 trials numerous states and he has instructed extensively in the fields of accident reconstruction, fleet safety, and compliance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.

Steve and all of FORCON's accident reconstruction professionals are fully certified by the Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstruction (ACTAR). Our reconstruction team has special expertise in commercial vehicle accident reconstruction which is being utilized by insurance companies and self-insured motor carriers over a broad geographic area.
